It is in Magog, in 1953, that Magog Caskets modestly began its activities as the only manufacturer of steel coffins in Canada. In 1963, Mr. Normand Lacasse bought the company and took over. The company progressed quickly, and a first relocation is essential. A second relocation became necessary because of the magnitude of the ever-increasing demand. In 1990, Mr Nicolas Lacasse joined the family company. It is in 1994 that Magog Caskets changes ownership and Mr Nicolas Lacasse becomes the single shareholder of the company. To this change of stewardship are added three expansions in order to answer market growth. The last expansion of the factory, then located alongside highway 10 in Deauville, takes place in 2005. |

Then, on September 26, 2006, a major fire destroys the factory completely. The day following the tragedy, Mr. Lacasse made his decision. It was clear that the activities must begin again, and as soon as possible. Magog Caskets returned to its roots by being relocated to the heart of the industrial park in Magog. Thanks to the unflagging efforts of every employee, all of the focus was on having the production back on track in record time. Thus, less than one month after the fire, the synergy of the whole team maded it possible to achieve the unhoped-for miracle: the manufacture of our very first casket. |

This new start also made it possible for the company to obtain more modern equipment and, at the same time, improve its capacity as well as the effectiveness of its production. Today, Magog caskets is ready to meet new challenges and to continue its mission. |
